The gardens are made up of 4 distinct areas: the collective gardens laid out as a mandala, which brings together everyone who loves gardening and wants to learn vegetable-growing and fruit-growing techniques together; the plots of the family gardens (70 m2), the educational garden of the nursery school (140 m2) and the shared area with the hut, the water tanks and the fruit trees,
PLAN PATATES at the Jardins Partagés de La Roquebrussanne
A brilliant idea that we are shamelessly copying from the gardens of a village near Perpignan!
Seeing that the family plots in the shared gardens are too small for everyone to grow their potatoes on their own plot, we propose creating a collective space to grow a POTATO patch together on a plot that is still free.
Calendar:
Potatoes are generally planted when the lilacs bloom, so in early April.
They are harvested during early July.
We invite anyone who is interested to:
- come and prepare the ground in March: first meeting on Saturday 11 March from 10am to 12pm.
Bring a grelinette (broadfork) if you have one. Participants will agree on a shared schedule for the rest of the work
- come and plant, in early April
- come along regularly to do the upkeep (hoeing when necessary, watering),
- come and harvest, July
To reassure the hesitant, this crop won't be very time-consuming
This opportunity to grow your own potatoes is offered free of charge to members of Les Jardins d’Issole BUT PLEASE NOTE, if you sign up, it is essential that you are present (either you or someone representing you) for the various work sessions. This is compulsory!
We look forward to hearing from you.
If you are interested, please get in touch with Pascal on 06 76 21 72 43
Warm wishes, and perhaps spud-ly yours

This Saturday, 14 May 2022
One by one, with willing little steps, everyone arrived at the hour that suited them, on this lovely May morning already under way. By about 11 o'clock, a dozen or so pairs of hands were busy in every direction, yet in a very orderly fashion.
Sylvie was painting, Christine planting, Nicole weeding with the hoe, Lucas forking, Christian watering, Bianca shovelling, Alain helping me, Laurence weeding, and Marie-Claude, Marion, Rudy and his brother were preparing the catering. And so...
What a success!
No fewer than fifty or so parents and children answered the invitation of Les Jardins d’Issole and gathered at the shared gardens of La Roquebrussanne this Saturday 7 May, alongside the great Fête de la Nature organised by the village's C.O.F and by determined volunteers.
The tour of the shared gardens, including the communal areas, common spaces, and the family and educational plots of the nursery school, was led by Christian and Lucas.
Meanwhile, workshops led by Pascal allowed the children, with the help of their parents and grandparents, to make weathervanes and rain gauges.
